Green Eggs and Ham Cafe has been on my must-try list for a while. It’s one of those popular snack stands that seems to open mostly during peak crowd times or busy seasons, so spotting it open felt like a small victory.
Tucked into Seuss Landing at Universal’s Islands of Adventure, this bright little stand is best known for its loaded “Totchos” and the themed Who Hash offerings, with the Green Eggs and Ham Tots being the most talked-about item.
When I finally found it open, I stopped to try it and took notes on what you should expect if you decide to visit.
This review covers location, seating, menu highlights, what I ordered, and practical tips to help you decide whether it’s worth a stop during your park day.

Location & Seating:
Green Eggs and Ham Cafe sits near the edge of Seuss Landing in Islands of Adventure, right along the water and across from The Cat in the Hat attraction. The stand itself is slightly set back from the main walkway, but it’s unmistakable thanks to its lime-green, ham-shaped façade.
Seating consists of concrete tables with attached benches on either side of the stand. A few tables overlook the lagoon, which makes for a pleasant spot to sit and enjoy a quick snack when weather and crowds allow.
The Menu:
The menu centers on a variety of Totchos — tater tots heaped with toppings — with several signature variations, including the themed Green Eggs and Ham Tots. The stand also typically offers a small rotation of seasonal sweets and treats.
On the visit described here, seasonal offerings included a Caramel Popcorn Cupcake and a Green Eggs and Ham Chocolate Cheesecake. The stand serves sodas and bottled water but does not offer alcohol. Prices are in line with other Universal snack locations, with Totcho dishes often costing as much as a quick-service entrée rather than a small snack.

A practical note before I dig into the tasting: when the stand is open, it can get very busy. I waited roughly 20 minutes to order and an additional 10 minutes for the food. A 30-minute wait for a single snack is longer than I would usually recommend.
When I received the dish, my first impression was size: the portion was noticeably small for the price, with the plate smaller than my hand. Presentation was as expected — crispy-looking tots topped with green eggs, diced ham, and white cheese sauce — but appearance didn’t translate into quality.
The tots appeared crispy but were actually cold and soggy, suggesting they had been sitting for a while. The green eggs were also cold and had an unappealing, slightly slimy texture. Flavor-wise the eggs had a green pesto-like seasoning that provided a pleasant herbal note, which I appreciated as a creative choice. The diced ham was basic, similar to the pre-diced ham you might find at a salad bar.
The white cheese sauce was a major issue: it was cold, somewhat slimy, and carried a tangy flavor that I found unpleasant. Combined, the components did not improve each other; the texture and temperature problems made the dish hard to enjoy.
I sampled each component individually and then tried a combined bite. After a single full bite that brought all the textures and flavors together, I decided it was not worth finishing. My dining companion also tried a bite and immediately recoiled. Ultimately we discarded the dish.
Know Before You Go:
- Would I recommend it? Probably not. If you want to try something there, consider alternatives like the Cheeseburger Totchos or one of the seasonal sweets instead of the Green Eggs & Ham Tots.
