One of the highlights of my summer is visiting the local farmers market, which runs from late May through the season. I usually go every Saturday, linger over breakfast there, and then load up on fresh produce. This week I came home with a haul of strawberries.

With mangoes already abundant at home, it made sense to combine the two into this strawberry mango salsa. It turned out so delicious I couldn’t stop tasting it.

The key is to use ripe, sweet mangoes and strawberries—tart fruit won’t give the same result. If your fruit is a little underripe, stir in 1–2 teaspoons of honey to balance the flavors.

This salsa is uncomplicated: just six ingredients and about 10 minutes to prepare. Once it’s made, it’s versatile—serve it with chips, spoon it over burger patties, stuff it into tacos or burritos, or eat it straight from the bowl.

I admit I ate an entire bowl with a spoon—no judgment if you do the same.

How to Make Strawberry Mango Salsa

Start by gathering and dicing the mangoes and strawberries, and chopping the red onion, jalapeño, and cilantro. Prepare one large lime for juicing.

Add the diced mango, strawberries, and red onion to a large mixing bowl. Stir in the finely chopped cilantro and jalapeño to distribute the heat evenly.

Squeeze the juice of one large lime over the mixture and season with salt to taste. Mix gently to combine. For the best flavor, let the salsa rest for 15–20 minutes so the juices and seasonings meld.

Serve the salsa with chips, use it to top grilled proteins, or add it to tacos and burritos. This simple, fruity salsa brightens any summer meal.
