One of my top dessert stops in EPCOT is L’Artisan des Glaces, a charming ice cream counter tucked into the France Pavilion.

Housed inside the France Pavilion, this small shop specializes in handcrafted ice cream, sorbets, and unique ice cream-based desserts that are hard to find elsewhere at Walt Disney World Resort.
Full disclosure: I’m a devoted ice cream fan, so this review reflects that enthusiasm. If ice cream is available, I’ll try it—and L’Artisan des Glaces rarely disappoints.
Below you’ll find my impressions, practical details, and tips to help you plan a visit.
Atmosphere & Location:
L’Artisan des Glaces sits inside the France Pavilion at EPCOT. To reach it, head toward the back of Chefs de France as if you’re walking to Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie. The shop is just before Les Halles on the left.

You’ll often spot the location by the line stretching out the door. It gets busy for good reason—people line up for the distinctive flavors and specialty treats.

Inside, the shop evokes a classic French patisserie with elegant moldings, glass display cases, warm lighting, and tasteful European details. The footprint is modest—primarily an ice cream counter with a couple of registers.

There’s no indoor seating within the shop itself, though a few small tables sit just outside. If those are taken, Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie nearby offers additional indoor seating and convenient restrooms.
The Menu:
The menu centers on handcrafted ice creams and sorbets, with a rotating selection of flavors and several inventive ice cream-based creations.

Flavors change seasonally; my personal favorite is Coconut White Chocolate, though you’ll usually find multiple options to sample.

Beyond scoops and cups, the shop offers several specialty items, such as:
- Ice Cream Martini flights — small scoops presented in martini glasses for sampling multiple flavors
- Macaron Ice Cream Sandwiches — large, filled macarons with generous ice cream centers
- Seasonal specialties that rotate throughout the year
- The popular Croque Glacé — ice cream nestled inside a brioche bun and pressed warm like a sandwich
The Croque Glacé is worth mentioning for its novelty: ice cream tucked into brioche, warmed and pressed to create a contrast between a slightly toasted bun and cold, creamy filling.
What I Order:
Because I often choose gluten-free options, I typically stick with a scoop in a cup or a seasonal Macaron Ice Cream Sandwich, which usually retails around $8.95.

Macaron sandwiches come in chocolate and rotating seasonal flavors like lemon or pumpkin. These macarons are larger than typical French macarons—about the size of a palm—and are packed with a generous amount of ice cream.

The macaron cookie has a slightly sticky, chewy texture that pairs nicely with the creamy filling. The chocolate version tends toward milk chocolate—sweet, smooth, and very satisfying. Portions can be rich enough to share, though I usually keep mine to myself.
Know Before You Go:
- Reservations: Not required. This is a walk-up counter.
- Ordering: Walk-up service only; no mobile ordering at the counter.
- Crowds: Lines build quickly, especially during EPCOT festivals and peak afternoon hours.
- Gluten-Free Options: Several gluten-free ice cream and sorbet flavors are typically available, but selections change by day and season.
- Seating: No indoor seating in the shop; a few outdoor tables sit nearby and more seating is available in Les Halles.

- Best For: Anyone who loves ice cream, wants a distinctive Disney dessert, or needs a sweet break while exploring the World Showcase.
