Ingredients

- Self-raising flour
- Sweetened Greek yogurt
See the recipe card below for exact quantities and the cinnamon-sugar coating measurements.
Instructions

Make the dough

Air fry at 350°F for about 5 minutes

Toss in melted butter and cinnamon sugar

Top with melted chocolate if desired
- Make the dough: In a large bowl, combine the self-raising flour and sweetened Greek yogurt. Stir until a soft dough forms.
- Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently until smooth, making sure there are no dry spots. If the dough feels sticky, rub a little oil on your hands to make handling easier.
- Shape the bites: Divide the dough into two portions and roll each into a long log about 1 inch thick. Cut the logs into small pieces (about 8–12 g each) and roll each piece into a smooth ball.
- Preheat the air fryer: Heat the air fryer to 350°F (180°C) for a few minutes. Lightly brush the basket with oil to prevent sticking.
- Toss the dough balls in a little melted butter, then place them in the basket with space between each so they can expand while cooking.
- Air fry for about 5 minutes, or until puffed and set. They may not brown perfectly, which is normal with circulating air.
- Cinnamon-sugar coating: While still warm, brush the donut bites with more melted butter and immediately roll them in a mixture of granulated sugar and ground cinnamon so the coating adheres.
- Serve: Enjoy the donut bites as-is or drizzle with melted chocolate for an extra treat.

Substitutions
- Sweetened Greek yogurt: Use plain yogurt plus 1 tablespoon granulated sugar if needed.
- Self-raising flour: Substitute all-purpose flour combined with 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder per cup.
Equipment
- Air fryer
Storage
Store leftover donut bites in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. Reheat briefly in the air fryer for 1–2 minutes or microwave for 10–15 seconds. Avoid refrigerating, as that can dry them out.
Top tips for success
- Use thick yogurt: Full-fat Greek yogurt gives the best texture; watery yogurt makes the dough sticky.
- Don’t over-knead: Knead just until smooth to keep the bites light and tender.
- Space them out: Leave room in the air fryer so the dough balls can puff up without touching.

FAQs

Air fryers circulate hot air, which can cause uneven browning. The bites will still be cooked through and tender.
Yes. Add 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder (and 1/4 teaspoon salt if desired) per cup of all-purpose flour to mimic self-raising flour.
